THE IB DP LATE APPLICATION PROCESS

The late application process requires the completion of the following four parts. Students must fill out the written components under Part 1 while a parent must complete Part 2. Students will need to request a counselor and two teachers to fill out Part 3 & 4 on their behalf. These parts are independent of one another and can be submitted in any order.

Given that the application is delayed and therefore students were not able to participate in the interview process here at PHS, students accepted in this application will be offered a waitlisted position in our program. Please visit the interested students tab for more information about a waitlisted position.

The late application process is open for the Class of 2030 (current 8th graders) on February 9th. The deadline for all parts of this written application is April 9th @ 11:59pm.

Applicants will be notified if they have been accepted on to our waitlist on Friday, April 17th @ 4pm via the parent and student email inputted in Part 1 of the application.

***ATTENTION: the School of Choice window is now closed. If you are out of the Palisade High School boundary, our registrar can still enroll your student here at PHS if they are accepted into our program.

Important Notes:

All application parts should be completed and submitted separately using the "Submit" button at the bottom of each form.
Applicants should direct their counselor and teachers to this website directly for referral completion. The counselor and teachers will use the links provided in parts three and four of the application to complete their recommendations individually.
You may not save an incomplete application and return to it. Therefore, we recommend completing the extended responses on the student application on a separate document and then copying them onto the application.
Please communicate with counselors and teachers to request recommendations from them in a timely manner.

ACADEMIC HONESTY

Parents and students, please acknowledge you have read and can commit to our policy on academic honesty.

Palisade High School Academic Integrity Policy
Please understand that IB students in violation of the academic honesty policy will be placed on probation, and repeat offenses constitute dismissal from the program.

Two Diplomas: D51 and IB

Parents and students, IB students will be working toward two diplomas. Please acknowledge the following:

We are a full-diploma programme only, and students commit to a rigorous course of study that must include the core and six subject groups.
Pre-IB students will complete many of the D51 graduation requirements in their freshman and sophomore years; students are official diploma programme students in their junior and senior years.
A pre-IB schedule is somewhat prescriptive; in order to earn a D51 diploma and be ready for the IB diploma programme, our students must take certain pre-requisites.
Students must commit to taking course-end IB exams which will determine whether they receive their internationally-recognized IB diplomas. Testing is not optional, and there are fees attached (due the senior year). Those fees are comparable in price to AP fees and can be reduced if the student demonstrates financial need.

TRANSPORTATION

Parents and students, we recognize that transportation may be a concern. Many of our students carpool, take one of two IB-buses (with two drop-off/pick-up locations in GJ), take D51 buses, or ride the GVT.
